exhaust brake

After a long run with the exhaust brake on it will engage properly however when I apply throttle it will not disengage also trips the check engine light with no codes, which i can clear with either the edge insight or smarty. What is the problem? 6. 7 with DPF delete and smarty on level 3. #@$%!

Sounds like the slide ring for the variable geometry is sticking. Maybe turbo needs a cleaning or replacement.

Your signature doesn't say much about what your 6. 7 is?

Yeah I'd wager the turbo is all hosed up.

Also if he's never had the J35 flash, that solved a lot of turbo issues too.
