I'm having a bit of a problem with smoke getting in the bed... . although it isn't with Exhaust Smoke... ...

Stacks really help get the soot away from the truck... as shown in the pic.

MCummings,

Great Pic of a Smokin CTD :D

Business is Boomin!!!:D I have spent the last year getting the shop in order. I will be making it to more of the Diesel events this year plus I will be working on several R&D Projects that have been waiting for me to get time to spend on them.

I hope to be releasing new products soon. To mention a few: Some Highly effective and easy to install Ladder Bars )(No frame Drilling or Welding). A Fifteen Stage Propane system (Better Mileage and Lots More HP!) that is fully adjustable in the cab and has a EGT Limiter. A Turbo or two based on the B-1 Design. They will not replace the B-1 or KSB-1 they will expand the line - One smaller (Lower Hp trucks) and one Bigger (More CFM-Sled Pulling & Drag Racing) than the B-1. Also a External wastegate system that can be of use with any turbo system (single or Twin). I am expecting more HP and lower Drive pressures / Egt's when combined with the B-1 Turbo Line.

Got Smoke?,

After fitting the "T" pipe with the 90 deg elbows We welded them together. And at the stack attachment points we used the Strap band clamps.

NCostello,

I have the Long Bed...

Holy Smokes MCummings!! You should run the grid heaters a little longer before starting it in the cold weather!:D Those stacks look good puffin black in a cloud of white! Good burnout shot... looks like the whole block is on fire.

KWIKKURT,

Tell us more about these ladder bars, I'm tired of bouncing through the snow.

RKohn, I hope to install the finished product back in my truck soon. Then I just have to make different versions for the different trucks. Give me a call for updated info. Thx

MILD TO WILD DIESEL PERFORMANCE.

Front of tire exits do not work around here. Remember Ford camoe out with the current F-150 line with front exit and then changed? The exhaust caused a lot of problems in the brakes.

The diesels that go with bigger exhaust systems around here go with behind the tire and usually angled to the corner pillar. A few with dual exhausts also go to the corners.

I used a big tip to push the exhaust past my rear tire. I have the fiberglas flares and the standard length pipe really sooted up things.

I'm thinking on trying straight back. I would also make a 90° extension to get it back to the side for towing.

I don't have any grid heaters :D In a very non-surgical way I removed them,, talk about cold EGT's at idle, and an awesome cool down time.

Amen!

I failed to replace the down pipe on the end of an Oldsmobile muffler. The muffler exited straight back to with 5 inches of the metal bumber bracketing stuff.

Next week we drove like a bat out of haitee accross Death Valley on our way to Disneyland. Dashboard lights stopped working about 1/2 way accross and just about day light. Stopped in LA to gas up and the entire right rear tail light was melted into a puddle and we had burned a wool blanket in about a foot square area that was in the bottom of the trunk near the right rear tail light. The entire wiring harness in the rear end was melted together almost to the center of the bumper. The exhaust must ahve had that metal bumber bracket EXTREMELY hot.

The trunk was soo full of stuff that there was very little room for air. Had there been more space available for air flow, I believe the blanket wouldn't have just smoltered, but actually caught on fire.

FWIW - Point the tailpipe down slightly!

I have my 4" running out like stock and when I get around to it, I'm going to point it straight back and down. A little quieter perhaps, but I figure I can mask/cloak/disguise alot of my exhaust smoke as if it were road dust swirling up... . get my point? :D
