Exhaust For towing...

I'm looking to lower my EGTs when towing but I don't want it to be to loud in the cab. I was wondering what you folks are running and how it performs. Any recommendations would be a big help...

Donaldson/Nelson/Fleetrite 51-incher...

Or a 30-inch MagnaFlow... mines pretty quiet (as quiet as stock at idle) and only a little more tone at cruise.

I removed my other "straight through" muffler and replaced it with the magnaflow to quiet it down...

I like my magnaflo 4" sound is good but not loud.

Did you notice a drop in EGTs? Do you both still have your cat in place?

I noticed about a 50-degree EGT reduction. It's the sound that's really cool

My truck didn't come with a cat, but if you're concerned about in-cab noise, keep or add a resonator (as far forward as possible). It's not just the max decibles, but the drone under constant load that is most irritating. I will say that my 4" x 30" Magnaflow with no resonator is quite livable. For me, cruising at 2200 rpm is the drone zone, I try to avoid it. Note - I've also added a considerable amount of sound insulation. My family prefers the sound of conversation on long trips.

I removed the cat... but I have not yet gotten my pyro installed, nor towed with a pyro installed to see the temps...
