Exhaust gaskets

Does anyone know anything about the "updated" exhaust gaskets the are available from cummins for our trucks? Instead of the plain metal, they are a metal laminate with a metal core and some material on each side. Gonna be pulling the exhaust manifold and just wondering what to use putting it all back together.

I dunno, I got mine from the dealership. They're regular metal from what I see.



I guess I shoulda got 'em from cummins...

Dare I ask how much they were? Metal from cummins is about $4 ea. The upgraded are about 9. 50.

These were $3 I think a piece. I only payed $18 total.

But of course, I get the frequent buyer's club discount at the local dealership...

They probably give him a really good price so they get him out of the shop fast! Gad, can you image CB getting into the stock area? That would be like a kid in a candy store!



Either that or he is a really nice guy and they want to help him out. (had to say that CB, didn't want to get you Pi**ed off at me)

well, i just got some from NAPA , $4. 56 for all 6, they are the metal ones just like the stock gaskets

Yeah, real wise guy... eh? Just kidding, Stan. Actually it's because I've been in there a lot lately getting parts, and the guy at the parts counter lived in my home town (Salmon, Idaho) for several years and he's just kind of a cool guy, so we shoot the breaze a lot and he gives me good prices.
