I was driving to the office this morning and noticed a little bit of an airy sound like an exhaust leak. Pull the truck into my shop and I've got a nice crack right on the top of the exhaust housing.

I like to build up instead of pay to stay. Soooooo, what kind of complete turbo should I go with? Or will I have to buy another exhaust housing of similar spec?

If you want a sweet little fast spooling towing turbo that will outperform the stocker check out the HTB2 from High Tech Turbo.

Any idea why it cracked?

I'm guessing heat.

Hope its an isolated case then.

I have the cool duals by MBRP and I'm a little worried that the dual setup doesn't allow the motor to twist as much as a single exhaust putting unnecessary stress on the turbo housing. Usually a flex pipe or donut/spring arrangement is used to allow for this. I don't think the compression style clamp they use is sufficient in this application. Maybe that is why DC decided to go with exhaust clamps vs. a fully welded exhaust system. On second thought... probably driven by a cost savings decision. :)

Aaron at Edge recommends the above as well, He said its a great turbo. That's what I am going to get soon.
