I just bought a 2016 2599 with rear air ride.
I wanted to do the 5 inch exhaust.. how close is it to the air bag?
Is it really to close for comfort?
Also is your sons truck lifted ? I have been looking and cant find much on it at all...
thanks in advance for your help

My Son put on a 5" pipe from the filter over the axle to the end. It does sound throatier. My concern is how close he is now to the air tubing for the rear air ride.

He did a 2" front end lift. The pipe is close to one of the air lines, not the bag.I think he placed a shield in that area from the old exhaust. It really does sound different. More throaty.

I am going to look his over more closely next month. I don't like the fact out exhaust is restricted and not a full 4".

Ron, for years we worried about exhaust systems, pyros, EGT's, boost , injectors, boxes, turbos, gears, trannys etc etc!

Fast forward to DEF trucks, and one can just drive them enjoying all the electronic gadgets arrayed before you! Add some cameras, a lockpic and enjoy!

I bought my 2015 Cummins used last year. The previous owner installed an Edge JWA, an AFE cold air intake and a Magnaflow DPF back exhaust. My truck is quite a bit louder than a stock Cummins, but still pretty quiet cruising down the road with the trailer attached.

I'm still young at heart and like a loud truck (my Tundra had a nice loud straight thru exhaust), but I have 2 young kids and we use the Ram to tow most of the time, so I enjoy the quieter experience now.
