Hey guys. For some reason my exhaust is starting to make banging noises when i hit a bump. I have a mbrp exhaust system. Any mbrp exhaust users have this problem? What did you do to fix it. Does anyone know what i should look out for? I couldnt go under the truck tonight because there is snow all over and its like 16 degrees out. I was hitting the exhaust trying to see if it would do it but i didnt hear anything hitting... Can anyone help me out here?

Check the EX. hanger bracket at the rear of the muffler, by the frame, that's where my 5" EX bracket hit. IF that is it you will see a wear mark. GWD

besides the rust, how does the single system sound? any drone? hope the banging is somthing simple and not your new exhaust!... . james

If the banging is coming from the exhaust, chances are it's a loose connection. Did you use clamps or welds at the connections? Get underneath and shake the exhaust at every connection and at every hanger to see if they're loose. If loose, fix accordingly. When we installed mine, we chose to not only use the clamps, but also tack welded a few connections to be safe.

Regarding that rust you were mentioning earlier - don't worry about it. It's only surface rust. If the looks of it bothers you, just get under there and scrub it off with one of those green pad things that are used for pots/pans. I've yet to get any surface rust on my HOG, but it is a different grade of stainless than yours and we don't use a lot of salt in my area.
