Does anyone know the proper torque for my exhaust manifold bolts? When I checked last I found the #6 bolts hand tight. I used a sijmple wrench and tightened them as much as I could.

You did'nt state whether you are under warranty, for wich this is coverd. I just took my rig the dealer to upgrade mine by putting straps on the bolts to keep this from happening. This is noted in the TSB for the year 2001. good luck. Nick

I'm still under warranty. After I tightened the bolts I took it in to the dealer in Columbia, SC. They were not familiar with the TSB but did order the parts and will call me when they arrive.

They did discover that the bolts were all tight, which was not a surprise as I had tightened them two weeks ago.

I will remember the 32 ft pounds of torque spec I just received, and will use it when I check them again. Bill K had warned me that the #6 bolts could come loose and I should check them. I suspect that at least some of these bolts have been over torqued by me.

Thanks

Chuck
