Hi, I have a '96 4x4 with 125k miles. I just noticed what looks to be engine oil coming out by the #1 cylinder exhaust area between the head and manifold. I have noticed a small exhaust leak at this point( I can see the oil bubble out of this area). Anybody have an idea of what could have given out?

Thanks

David

David, I have no idea what could be causing your simptoms, BUT... I have to ask, where the heck is Amboy Wa? I thought I've heard 'em all!

Hi DBCooper

Amboy,Wa is about 30 miles north of Portland,Or and if you know where Woodland,Wa is, it's about 16 miles east of I5. We like it out here especially when the logging trucks aren't rolling by.

Southwest Washington is absolutly beautiful. I'd rather be there than here. Hope someone pipes up with a idea for your truck.

Hi Jim, thanks for the suggestion about the injector. This would give me an excuse to get some larger ones :D .

Do you know of any way to test the injectors to be positive that this is the problem?

Thanks

David

POP Tester

Yes if you had a pop tester send them to me and I will test them for you or take them to a bosch fuel shop and they will test them for you

One good indecation is run the engine and take #1 out if the whole tip is wet you can bet it is leaking

Thanks for the information. I think I will try and pull the injector myself first too check it out. Depending on what I find I will try and find a shop around here, possibly Cummins NW in Portland.
