Well, I am trying to simply change out my turbo on my 2007 5. 7 and I could not get the bolts off the turbo that goes into the manifold as it seems they were put on by a gorilla. So I am now attempting to remove the exhaust manifold and remove the turbo/manifold as one unit. Problem is the last bolt (always).

There is a bracket that connects to a water pipe and it wraps around to the other side of the engine on the lower bolt closest to the firewall. There is another bolt directly under that one that also fastens the water pipe to the block. Does anybody know where the other bolts holding this pipe are? I cannot remove the last manifold bolt until this is out of the way as the bracket is connected to the bolt!

Help !

Tx,

Rob

Rob,

Yeah unbolt the pipe should be a nut securing the bracket/pipe to the manifold stud. There is also one up by the oil filter. On your 07 it should be a 1 piece pipe so you might need to remove some hose clamps also.

I usually unbolt then pull the pipe outward and down then that gives access to the stud/bolt for removal.

So just unbolt it and pull it away... I was worried about breaking it when I pulled it off the stud without fully removing it.
