exhaust mod on 05

I put my first mods on my 05 ctd cc swb. I put a torque tube & a 5" magnaflow turbo back exhaust. This is my first CTD,i traded in my "hemi",and loving every minute driving a real truck now! I have an exhaust ??? After i installed my 5" exhaust my rpm shoots up very quickly now,and it feels like i lost some power! Is it possible i went to big on the exhaust?? p. s. i am a newbie and this is my first post. THANKX

Some say that the large exhaust allows the turbo to spool too quickly.



The ECM sees this and defuels, resulting in lower power.



Get a box like a Quadzilla, and it will do some boost fooling even in the "off" position so you get your stock power back. The additonal power is good, too



Other popular options are Edge Juice w/ Attitude, Edge EZ, TST PMCR (my next box, for sure!), TS Ramifier, and the list goes on. If you don't want to wire anything, you can get a Bullydog Downloader, which reflashes your ECM to make more power.

Welcome to TDR and congrats on the CTD, Dodge can keep their Hemis, their good, but I love my cummins. When I started making mods to my truck the first thing I did was put a 5" exhaust and a Brute Force intake on her. I thought the same thing, felt like I lost power. I got the Bully Dog Power Pup Down Loader and man I couldn't be happier. I only have it set on Performance 90 HP untill I get a better clutch and tires, but I couldn't be happier.
