Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) exhaust mod

Happy New Year everybody,

I put a 4" exhaust on my truck. I'm wondering if I should eliminate the muffler under the truck? :-{} How much louder would the truck be vs the flow thru muffler of MBRP ? Would it help in the performance ? EGT's are no problem, till the xmas gifts get off the bench.

Since you already have a straight-thru muffler, I doubt there would be any difference power-wise. Just would be louder. My truck is loud, but doesn't bother me, unless I already have a headache. If anyone rides in back seat, they usually stuff Kleenex in their ears. :-laf



It depends on how loud you want it to be. That, and how your wife will like it, if she rides along much in the truck.



All a matter of preference. Only you can answer that. By trying it for a bit, or riding in my truck when you come to put your injectors in.

With a high flo muffler you won't see any difference in performance just noise

I'll take you up on that offer when I stop by. My exhaust exits the rear of the truck, so it may not be that much louder? Thats why I asked.

But I do agree with Kyle4 & you it not going to help in the performance than WHY DO IT ?
