I have been wanting to get a new exhaust but no one makes one for my '03 with a cat so I had the local muffler shop modify my stock exhaust. I mostly wanted it for a little more sound and maybe to lower egts.

They cut out the stock muffler and replaced it with this Maganflow race muffler, http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=568 put in a piece of pipe as the new muffler is much shorter than the stock one, put on a couple hangers and welded it up. They did a nice job, costs me $225, they also made the tip a little higher at my request so it tucks in closer to the body, looks nice with the MBRP tip I have on it.

The muffler was straight through with perferations in the pipe that went through the body. The sound is really nice, at idle you cannot tell off idle to about 2000rpm it is a little deeper from 2000rpm up it is noticably louder when there is more than 15lbs boost, I am looking forward to trying it towing and see how it is, I do not think it will be too much louder unless climbing a hill in 3rd at 2500rpm which usually does not last too long. The egts seem to go down faster now when idling, I will have to wait and see what happens when towing. I enclosed a couple pictures including one of the cat.

Why the CAT? I thought 2004 was first year for CAT?

MA has the same emmisions as CA, trucks from those states have had cats since '03. No aftermarket exhaust company has made an exhaust for them that I know of.

But we couldn't get the HO motor in Ca. . Ca. has the toughest standards thats why it took an extra year. The Leftest state in the union

P. S. Sweet looking Muff
