I have a MBRP 4" exhaust system and the hanger that is attached to the transmission broke off leaving a large hole in the exhaust pipe. Anyone else have/had this problem?

Mine did the exact same thing 3 days ago! I have the $300 4" exhaust from Summit and I've been thrilled with it until that happened. To fix it I bought a band clamp (example pic here) to cover/seal the hole, then I'll be modifying a u-bolt hanger to replace the missing hanger. I thought mine was a fluke, I guess not!

Mine did the same thing with s. s. Magnaflow. Muffler shop welded up the 1" hole. My question is do we need the hanger in this location, will it cause other problems? Ponz

I got the mbrp 4 inch exhaust also, the hanger at the transmission broke also. I must of got lucky cause it didn't leave a hole so I just run without it.

FWIW I installed the band clamp last night and it works great for "patching" the hole. Bought it for $9 at the local truck parts supplier.

Given the striking similarity of the failure between my Summit exhaust and the MBRP exhaust, I'm beginning to think they're the same product.

nah, I haven't run it on my last few trucks... if you don't have a cat or resonator down there, it's going to be a lot lighter than OEM exhaust and you don't need the support... really, you probably don't need the support on oem either
