What will unleaded gas do to a diesel

I'm planning on replacing my exhaust - or the truck's, anyway;) - as soon as Uncle Sam lets me have my money back. I've been planning on a 4" system, but started thinking and have one final concern:

On gas engines, going with too large of exhaust will hurt torque/low end performance. Does this also apply to diesels?

I'm not planning any serious mods - 16cm housing, maybe a set of injectors - and use the truck as my daily driver (21 miles each way, in town traffic), as well as hauling a small cabover and towing my Jeep. I'd hate to spend the $$$ for a 4" system, only to lose low-end power.

No worries with this Dan, the more open the exhaust the better.

The 3 1/2" mandrel bent system is sufficient for up to 350HP, or so I'm told.

The 4" system sounds much nicer in my opinion.

As for the issue you mention, you're referring to an engine needing a certain amount of backpressure. That is not the case with the diesel engine... open 'er up!

Bob.
