I am going to get a new exhaust system very soon. I went threw some old threads to find links for exhaust system mfg/suppliers. The links for stan's and bigexhaust are dead now. Anyone have good links or know if they are still in business?

Thanks thats one good link right now. The link here on TDr is bad and so was the link I found on google.

Scott remember mine is a $X$ model. I am not going to play around trying to make a system up around the transfer case. If it was 2wd I wouldn't have even posted looking for links. I would have been beating on your door. :D

Philip, I'm going with Stan's soon. His has all the hangers(except for tailpipe section, and is 4" all the way. The one from BigExhaust, I understand is from a place here in Iowa, and its a 3" downpipe, to 4" exhaust. The one from Rip Rook is advertised with no hangers. I just got an email back from Stan about his. It is the same price without muffler, at there is NO tip with the kit. No dual tailpipes either for a first gen. He'd be glad to bend up a set for me, if I brought my truck to his shop though:eek: Probably can't talk the wife into letting me drive out to the west coast to get custom 4" dual exhaust system for my truck. :-{} So I'm going to get the 4" single. I won't be able to smoke both sides of the street anymore.

Pete that wasn't Michael that smoked the girl. That was one of them "MO" guy's.

Michael if your up for a drive to get the dual tail pipes let me know. I might be able to ride along. This week on Monday I rode down with Jeremy to Rolla, MO and back. Then Tuesday I had to run to Tulsa for a funeral. I spent most of this week on the road. :(

Uhh, no trips to the west coast for me, anytime soon. I may take a vacation out there sometime when I'm retired. Maybe climb into my old first gen and take a little trip up to PDR land, in another 40 years. . You are more then welcome and come ride around in my service truck, I could use a hand every day!

I wonder if stan's will sell an unfinished downpipe w/ an HX40 flange? I just got another first gen and will be looking for exhaust soon. Too bad no one makes a stainless kit. I was thinking maybe on this truck to at least get the downpipe coated, maybe even the whole thing.

Michael seeing as how I am looking for another job the offer sounds good. But I think the drive every day to work would be a killer. :-laf :-laf

Anyone have a link for rip rook?

It worked that time Dodgenstein.

They didn't have anything I am interested in. All their kits are 3" down pipes then step to 4".

If I have to use my 3" down pipe then I'll just go local and have my system rebuilt back to 3". I have a local shop that has 3" dies for their bender.

Could you get one of the 4" downpipe back systems, then have a 4" downpipe made by Smoke House Diesel? His look better than mine, that's for sure.

Texas Diesel Shop had a group buy earlier this year, but they had fitment problems with the downpipe and around the T-case.

You could also get some SS flex pipe, and install 2 more hangers- one right in front of and one behind the t-case on the cross member (or the nearest one). It may not LOOK the best, but the stainless flex holds up pretty well. Should last another 14 years.

Daniel I remember the thread from Texas diesel shop. They also supplied a tail pipe that slanted back like the second gens do. If I wanted that style I could go local and buy a second gen stock 4" tail pipe. Then buy pieces from where ever.

Flex Pipe   All I can about that is "No F Way"

I got a email off to Stan's asking some questions. I'll see what he has to say. Then I'll go from there.

If I can get a complete system that meets the needs I have I'll buy it. If not it will go back 3" by the local shop.

Rip rook is a site sponsor and his website is www.sourceautomotive.biz I believe. I used his 4" and then a Nelson 51" straight through Muffler. Sounds great and didn't break the bank. I bought the muffler from the local Fleetpride shop.

Thanks. I didn't know rips company name.

I looked around there. The kit he shows has a 3" down pipe. So I scratched him from the list.
