I have a 2014 ram 2500 ctd 6spd. I was wondering if you remove all the emission control stuff just after the downpipe without a tuner will it still run? If so how long? I'm sure it will throw all kinds of codes.... Once that happens if you put all the emission control system back on will they clear automatically or does it have to go to dealer for service? I just want to hear and drive it a few miles then I will put it back together. I miss my old 93 & 05 Cummins powered trucks.. Thanks

That's an awful lot of work to do just to hear it sing for a couple minutes. You would be better off just leaving stuff plugged in and disconnecting the pipe and use a ratchet strap to move it out of the way for a run around the block. You'll probably get some DPF pressure codes that should go away when you hook it back together and it sees some drive cycles without errors.

Not saying this is a good idea at all, or that it won't cause other issues, but a co-worker had a V band clamp come off of his ISX Kenworth and it ran fine for about a half mile before he shut it down and put the clamp back on correctly. I know it's like comparing apples to dump trucks (literally), but his truck showed no codes and ran better than it ever had for that half mile!
