Exhaust sound

I just replaced the factory muffler with a straight through muffler. The exhaust now has a huffing, whooshing, airy sound. Sorry, that is the only way to describe it. Is there anyway to eliminate this sound? It also has a fluttering sound but I believe that sound is coming from the turbo itself. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to give the company a chance to correct it when I get a hold of them. I'm also trying to find out if there is anything I can do to eliminate it. Rest assured. If I don't get resolution, I will post the brand name here for others to beware. I want to give them a chance first. Stay tuned!

We get calls all the time from folks that have done the muffler swap with the same concern/question etc.



The only way to get the "TRUCK" sound you're after is to get a full system, there have been a lot of complaints on straight piping the 2003+ trucks as they tend to sound kind of puny etc. Call us if we can help you with any questions etc we have aluminized, T-409 and T-304 systems available.

I fixed mine with an Aeroturbine muffler. Major improvement in sound quality. Also the PDR Bomber Lite helped too because of the boost elbow keeping the wastegate closed. A lot of the lousy hissy sound is from the exhaust blowing off thru the wastegate.

That's where it's coming from! When the TST kicks in it sounds like someone blowing a shop airgun. Don't get me wrong though, shortly after that she growls like a wild animal.
