have some exhaust questions. I want either a full 5" exhaust or toying with stacks or single stack. would like some feed back on a full 5" compared to a single 5 or 5" stacks. I know the sound will be diff. but overall on EGT and throttle response and spool up. I have a full 4" now wondering what are some gains.

second question for you stack guys. or single stack guys. I have been looking at Dynaflex Chrome Muffler Stacks | Chrome Stacks | Rubber Intake Elbows | Donaldson Mufflers and getting ideas my question is when the pipe comes up through the bed how is the pipe held is it actually touching the bed as it comes up. my thoughts this would make a bad vibration. just wondering if anyone has pictures of there home made stacks and how it looks coming up through the bed.

Sorry no pictures as I don't have stacks but, several of my buddies do. The hole in the bed is cut larger than the pipe that comes through, enough so there is about 1/2 - 1" clearance between pipe and hole in bed. From there the pipe enters either a "Y" pipe, or a square channel pipe that goes to where your stacks will connect. The "Y" pipe / square channel pipe is secured / mounted to the floor of the bed. The individual stacks are secured to the top rail of the bed (closest to the cab). It depends on how you want to do it and if you purchase a kit or make your own from pieces. My 2 buddies that have stacks one bought a kit and the other made his own from pieces he bought at a big rig shop. The built set ends up with 7" Bull Horns that top off even with the roof of the cab and the kit set are 5" straight w/rain covers and end just above the cab.

As for the 5" pipe, the only difficulty you may have will be the down pipe between the frame and bell housing may need a bit of a squish to fit / have clearance. Your 4" system should be fine to bring you up into the bed area then you can step up from there. I don't know if you will spool any quicker going from 4" to 5" down pipe as the outlet of the turbo is still the same size - but I'm sure someone else that has stacks and a 5" would know the answer to this.

Have fun.

On edit: I just clicked the link in your post WOW! for the price of one muffler/stack you could probably make your own "muffler less" set. Check this site Grand Rock Stacks Powerflow Exhaust Systems scroll down a bit and notice the complete dual kit 4" set priced at $387 and it goes up from there

I build twin kits all the time a 5" pipe will fit through on 2nd and 3rd gens without dents. I have a 5" downpipe to a full 5" dual outlet system now with a magnaflow muffler (have a MBRP coming). It is not real loud but twins reduce noise. I also just built a set for a 3rd gen with a stack and it was obnoxious as a single and with twins it was wife approved. LOL!
I doubt there will be much if any noticeable performance difference with a single. the 4" should be plenty for a 62/14. but it will add a lot of sound and possibly drone.
Stacks use a flex pipe often at the bend up to the splitter to keep vibrations from being much of an issue.
