I have a 97 3500 4X4 extended cab with a 8 1/2 foot flatbed with gooseneck box. I do alot of hotshot runs, and have decided I would like to put stacks on my truck. I plan to mount them to the front of the headache rack. I cannot use a crossover in the bed, because of my extra fuel tank.

I really need some suggestions. I also am wondering how to get the exhaust over to the drivers with the stock fuel tank in the way.

I am also dealing with the riddiculous cat that came out on the 97's.

Suggestions, please.

MBurke how much room do you have from the cab to the flat bed if you can find an area with just over 4 inches you can bring the pipe up or trim a small area in the front of the flat bed to being the pipe up. If the bed is high on the frame you may be able to get the pipes to go over the frame rail that mite work.

Keep after it you will love the sound :D

Good Luck

Cliff

All this is coming from a guy who now has many wives hunting him down due to his stacks,,The sounds that rifle from Cliffs stacks got many MD members shopping... ... .

You can go with just a single stack on the passenger side. On a flatbed it doesn't look bad at all. Many big rigs have just a single stack. I'll post a picture of mine later.

Well, it all depends on how your flatbed is mounted...

I did exactly what you want to do on my '98 QC with a flatbed. To fill the "dip" in the frame rails where the original bed attached, my flatbed is mounted on 5" 'C' channel. I just cut 4" holes in the channel and went over the truck frame with 4" flex pipe.

I'll try to get some pictures of how I did it, but it probably won't happen 'til the weekend since I don't see home during the week unless it's dark:(
