Competition Exhaust system for pulling

I have seen under a couple different list of rules for truck pulls that the exhaust must leave the truck straight up or straight down. Soo are stacks that turn out legal or do you have to have slash cuts. Also whats up with no tinting of the front windows.

well, i will tell you that the reason they don't want tinted front windows is because it is harder for them to see you exapmle: to make sure your not cheating, plus it's just a safety issue,

the stacks are fine, ours were turned out @ an angle, no problem there, but we switched to slant cuts because they just look cool!!

At some pulls they make you keep the windows up.



Drag races and mud drags - windows gotta be closed.

I don't think turn outs will be a problem. If it is just turn them strait back. Window tint same thing, just roll the window down, in Troy they make you have the driver window at least half way up but that is the only place around here that I know of that has such a rule. I know I'm not takeing my tint off

I went to a pull in NY state and the sled operator/owner/builder was a girl!



Turns out she's a shop teacher... and loves pulling.



And no... I don't know if she's single.

Holeshotholset, the sled is operated by a lady and her husband by the name of love. A friend of mine pulls 4x4 trucks with the central ny pullers (atpa). They do a good job but are heavy on the grouser!!!!

Does this mean that they make the sled harder to pull than most sled operators? Different weight advances, etc... . ?

"grousers" are what are on a dozer track for traction.



Some sleds have grousers on the bottom of the pan, the longer they are, the more aggresive the pan is when it hits the ground.

You never, ever want to tick the sled operator off.

Yes, Maam, Yes Sir, is a good idea.



They have sole power on ripping your truck in half, if they wish!

what i mean by heavy on the grouser is the sled operator can put more or less pressure on the pan at full box. they can put steel pins lower or higher to dig in the dirt at full box. believe me they can put the hammer on ya and it isn't pretty. it is real hard on equipment. each sled has different arrangement as far as how the pressure is put to the pan(hydraulics mostly) what they try to do is pick the back of the sled off the ground by putting pressure on the back of the pan (via leverage) go to the how it works site and maybe they have a sled page

Heck it would be nice if only one truck did that per night... . but hardly anybody does that anymore.
