Hi, I'm a new subscriber in need of an exhaust system for my 91 WD250 4X4 intercooled 5 speed. Any tips regarding size, composition, configuration, suppliers, etc will be appreciated. I could have one built localy or purchase an OEM system but I suspect there are well engineered superior after market systems available.

Would the 16cm turbo housing be a good addition at this time.

I believe the 16cm turbo is worthwhile. The turbo will come up much faster.
I have a banks powerpack on mine. That is a bigger exaust and muffler and the k&n filter. I have it turned up a little bit but I need to remove the collor on the injector pump adjusting screw before I can get much more.
You need exaust temp gauge before you turn it up as you can get it HOT.

Will,

Welcome to the TDR.

I had a 92 D350 CC auto, 3. 54. I installed a Banks exhaust system on it. The OEM tailpipe has a big dent knocked in it where it passes over the rear axle which is very restrictive. If you buy a new pipe from Dodge, you'll get a new pipe with the same dent. It seems Dodge puts that dent in the pipe to keep it from hitting the bed of the truck(Very high tech!). The Banks muffler was a straight thru type too which is less restrictive. I couldn't tell any difference in the noise.

This modification helped lower my exhaust temp and made the truck a little more responsive at the higher RPMs. Jardine Exhaust probably makes a system too that isn't quite as "pricey" as the Banks.
