exhaust system

can someone tell me if you can cut off the entire muffler system on an 07 6. 7 liter diesel 4 wd drive truck??? will it start if you do it??? if you can do it, who does it so i can get mine done. has anybody else done this if so please show pic if you have them. where i live we don't have emissions. my truck runs like crap!!!!

If you are asking if you can just delete the exhaust emission components the answer is no. You have to do a downloader, like Smarty or H&S to get the truck to run correctly without emission components

Legally a company can not remove the DPF and replace it with standard pipe, it is a federal law. If you do remove the DPF then like Bob V said you'll need a programmer to turn off the sensors.

Ok, so let me see in order to get the truck running right then i need to buy and install a smarty or hs system?? have you ever installed one of these systems in your truck?

I have the Smarty J67 (stock programming) on my truck. To do the DPF/EGR deletes you'll need the J67-ME. The Smarty plugs into the OBDII port and then you select which programming you want to download. Takes about 3 to 4 minutes.

H&S tuners... call them! no problems... you can use an 07 and down aftermarket exhaust system. works with no problems. H&S 1-888-628-1730.

I got the Smarty J67 from the distributor of the Smarty. There are a number of retail dealer that you can order them fromIt is very easy to download. Once it is downloaded you unplug it and put the unit back into it's box. I've been running it on the economy setting for now and I notice a much better response in the lower RPM range and no noticable decrease in MPG.
