Hi I am a new member to TDR and really like it so far. I have a 1992 Dodge 3/4 ton 4X4 with a Cummins. Currently it has a 3" straight pipe on it, but it is all rotten and rusted out. I am looking for a 3. 5" or 4" exhaust system. The only ones I have found are in excess of $400. Does anyone know where I can get a new system cheaper? I am planning on keeping the straight pipe because it sounds great coming up out of a field with two full wagons of hay behind it :)

Welcome Case, Careful you can get addicted to this place. I think it's the diesel fumes. If you like the sound of the straight pipes I'd just find a good muffler shop and have it replaced with another 3" pipe. There's little restriction that way so little to be gained with a custom pipe. You might even find someone to do a 3. 5" pipe for ya. Put the $ on a set of PW injectors. More bang for the bucks there. Later.

Jeremy, good to have you on board. You will find this a great resource - just in case you don't know, you can find a lot of good information using the search feature. I am still on my original exhaust system (84,000 km) so I can't give you any advice.

One of the members ,Joe Donnelly, did extensive dyno testing. He concluded that there are no gains for exhaust pipes over 3" until after 350 hp in our application. So it comes down to whether the price is worth the size because it won't give you an increase in power. If your system is stock other than the muffler, then you will gain by going to a mandrel bent 3" exhaust pipe due to factory 'crimping' in some areas. Ted Jannetty has a great 3" system for close to half what others want for their 3 1/2".
