I have looked @ a lot of different systems on the internet. Without a doubt Rip has the best price on the aluminized system , but I'm not to crazy about the clamp on hangers. I like the system by DPP for two reasons, one is the welded hangers, & the other is the no seam muffler design. Don't need a stainless system for my location & not trying to ruffle feathers, just need some people with either system to give honest feedback & pros & cons of each system if possible. TIA :)

Rips

TJ, I have a rips system what's this about clamp on hangers? My system has welded hangers. I feel that Rips system sounds the BEST :D Down side ????NONE!!!!!!

Is there a performance system that is actually as quiet as or quieter than stock? I want a better exhaust, but this thing is plenty loud now.

Mad Bomber, thanks for your input. I have'nt seen one of Rip's systems up close , but from what it looks like online is that the hangers are part of the clamping system instead of being welded directly to the pipe. But of course that is looking at a picture & not the real thing. The more I learn the more I know , don't want to have any spare exhaust systems lying around something that big is hard to explain to the better-half. THANKS :D

The Magnaflow is a great system, and the hangers are welded to the pipes and muffler. It is stainless, but if you look around, you can find it for not much more than an aluminized. Of course, all exhaust systems are about to make a big jump in price due to steel prices (almost doubled in the last 6 months), so I'd buy quick. As far as sound, it is not much louder than stock, but has a good sound to it. I've had mine for about 3 or 4 months now and I love it.

I don't think you could get the exhaust noise quieter than stock without severely impacting exhaust flow. Besides, with a stock exhaust most of what you hear is all engine noise and very little exhaust noise.

For what it's worth, just replacing the restrictive stock muffler on my '92 with a big straight through glass pack didn't make a noticeable change in exhaust noise.

Today I installed 4" T304 , Turbo back, system from Jegs. Nice tone, right price, quality stuff, or so it seems.

I like the sound, it could be a little quieter though, but I'm that way. I like the Borla on my jeep, a system known for its manners.

Probably my imagination but I think the truck is quicker.

Lets have this conversation in 5 years.
