freak accident! Please pray!

My exhaust temp gauge has been working fine up to several weeks ago,now it only reads around 2 to 3 hundred degrees and then the needle just sort of flutters and won't read any higher temp's. Would that be the gauge that's bad or the probe?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't know what kind of gauge you have but my Autometer started doing that a while ago also. If I tapped the gauge it stopped but then would start again. I noticed that it only did it with the lights on. I read something on here about an inconsistant reading and it said the culprit was the power supply. I had mine coming off fuse #17 in the interior fuse panel which is a switched supply for the cluster. I removed that and pulled my power from a switched fuse panel I installed and now it is fine.
