Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Exhaust temp.

Hey guys got a question for all. What is the exhaust temp supposed to be at and how high is it allowed to go be for i do damage?

If I remember correctly, 1300 degrees if pyro sensor is pre turbo and 1100 if post turbo. as far as what is normal, I think there are too many variables to give a definitive answer, but I would think somewhere in the 500-650 range. . depends on a lot of things...

My teacher at ISU says to be safe go about 1200 max

is 1200 before or after? What damage can you do if you go over?

You lose somewhere around 300 degrees through the turbo at load conditions. The pistons are an aluminum allow and aluminum melts @ 1240 deg. F. bg
