Dose anyone know what the normal operating exhaust tempeture should be on a 2001 dodge cummings. Not bomb in anyway or not pulling A traler running empty. ??

Running empty w/ no trailer on the freeway I see about 600-650 at 70mph depending on outside temp. My pyro is pre-turbo.

Here is some information out of my log book before the truck was upgraded except for gages. I only had about 200 mi. on the OD. For what it's worth:

Level grade at about 600 to 800 degrees with 13 lbs. of boost at 68 mph.

Test drive truck up 7% grade: 3rd gear-70mph-3200

rpm. Pyrometer registered 1150º up grade. Cannot do

70 mph in OD. On the flat, about 670º @70mph w/14 lbs.

boost. Max boost is about 20 lbs.

Me 2 Rob, drives me nuts!!! As for the EGT's I always thought mine ran kinda warm. 60 mph flat ground in OD about 750-800 depending! Thermocouple is in manifold. Hope this helps.

P. S. EGT's went down about 100 deg. after 4" exhaust!
