Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) exhaust temps

I recently had my truck emission tested here in Colorado Springs. They did this on a dyno at 3 different speeds. When the test was over the tech said my exhaust temps seemed higher than what he normally sees. 1100 at the 50 & 40 mph test. I have a dipricol gauge that I installed in the manifold per instuctions. Cruise around town temps are around 600 and 75 mph hiway temps are around 750. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. By the way truck made 230 hp and 485 ft lbs of trq. I figure not bad for basically stock truck at this altitude.

He probably sees lower most of the time because the other trucks most likely have the thermocouple after the turbo.



1100* pre-turbo is just fine.
