my exhaust fell off the other day where the down pipe connects to the turbo i took the band clamp off and a thin metal ring fell out is this what i need to weld back onto the down pipe or should there be a V shaped flange piece that i am missing ?
It's a V-band clamp that holds the down pipe to the turbo. All the down pipe has is that flange, the "ring" you found. You can weld it back on and it should be ok. TECHNICALLY you're not supposed to reuse a v-band clamp once it's been tightened on a flange cause the ridges get mashed, but I won't tell anyone if you don't.
thanks for the replies , i would go with the 4in down pipe but i am planning to change the trubo i got a HE351 that i want to put on in the future so i think i will just go back with what i got for now
