Have old exhaust off! Have new 4" from RPM. Having trouble getting it on(need to use this vehicle for work tomorrow) Installing on 2000 ram 2500 2wd Automatic with 8' box. Pipe from the down pipe to muffler does not line up with muffler to well. The pipe that goes to rear of the muffler and over the axleSeems too long, But instructions say nothing about needing to cut it! I really need to get this back together! Any one else had these problems? Thanks George

I have never installed a rpm or honestly heard of it but most systems are made for the longest truck configuration so cutting is always neccesarry sometimes I find on diamond eye systems you have to modify hangers a little to make the system line up better. Remember measure twice cut once you don't want to make that mistake take your time

After doing a internet search for you it seems like this is a "one exhaust fits all deal" and you may have not been told it may need some cutting to fit. I have seen some exhausts even be "4x4" only and wouldn't fit a 2x4 correctly.

Try this. .

Mount the downpipe and its clamp, along with the muffler and only snug them down so they don't move. Then test fit the other pipes to see if you need to trim off some to make it fit correctly. Once you determine if its a improper fit or a improperly bent system then you may proceed. If the fit is off a tad in length then cut it to fit,if its a bend problem then it may have to go back. Its the only way I see to help you thru and possibly correct the problem... ... ... ... ... . Andy

Well I got it up to and including muffler now. Had to bend one of hangers. It was not positioned correctly on pipe! Now I guess I will try trimming tail pipe a little at a time. Sure not a fun afternoon!!!!!!

Finished at 8pm. Had to cut six inches from tailpipe. Still closer to spare tire than I would like, but can't move things back any furter. Maybe I am getting too old for this stuff!!!

I did a Rip's yesterday (and the day before!) Had a similar problem with the alignment after the downpipe. The first hanger next to the transmission had to be "modified";) . Also had to trim quite a bit off the second long section. It wouldn't have been so bad, but in the driveway when it's 30 out doesn't make for big fun. The truck won't fit in my garage. Anyway, it sounds AWESOME! Glad you got yours on.

Well I am glad you got it righted and on. Its a shame that some manufacturers claim to have a design that will fit and you end up doing modifications to fit it. I have a MBRP 5" system with a muffler on mine and it took us longer to get the old system off than to install the new one, bolted right up with no problems. Glad to be of some kind of help to you, keep in touch... ... ... ... ... Andy

BTW...

I will agree on the getting too old for this stuff,LOL.
