I've got to figure out what I'm going to do about my exhaust. It is busted off right now, somewhere behind the cab. I'm looking for opinions here, it's kind of loud, I'd like to quiet it a little, but still be able to hear that turbo sound. I'm thinking of just running some pipe and having it exit in front of the rear wheel. Cheap and easy. I'm out in farm country so "no muffler" is OK around here :D And I think the truck is too much of a rusty 'ol beater to get stacks.

The side pipe idea is a noisy one from the cab.

Over the axle straight pipe is just about the best there is. Noisy outside... ... not so inside.

A local shop will be able to bend 3" ok. Maybe even larger if you are lucky. If you feel adventuresome and have a small wire welder, you'll want to build it yourself. At this rate, you are only limited by your imagination.

See my two options in my readers rig gallery. I liked them both.

I got the 4" pieces from a Freightliner dealer- 2-45s and a 90, and some straight pipe. Got a 3-4 adaptor from a TDR member; have about $75 in it total. I used a 6013 stick and didnt blow any holes this time around Oo. I just laid out the stock pipe, made a few guide marks on the concrete floor for my abngles, and put the 4" over the marks and tacked them together. FIt it up under there to check fit; took back out, welded all around and fabbed me up some hangers. I ought to have Mom take a few pics while I'm getting a rear main seal from Cummins today.

i have a 5 inch stack, with plans for another, and in my opinnion any dodge will look good with a stack(s). no matter how rusty. but, for a semi-quiet tone i recomend a factory style exaust but with no cat or muffler. thats how my dad runs his 2002 3500 and its plenty loud, for a old man.

Stacks. . I wasn't thinking about this earlier, but there's a bed liner in there. Don't think that would go too well with the stack plumbing.
