i am just wondering as far as exhaust goes are all 4 inch systems the same ( i am reffering to a straight through no muffler system. ) will a 180 dollar 14 gauge seytem off ebay work just as well as a 350 dollar 14 gauge system thanks.

The principle is the same but the craftsmanship isn't always the same. Aside from the physical diffrences (tubing gauge, metal used, coatings, sizes) there are a couple other things that make a good exhaust just that. Some of the cheap systems don't fit as nicely as they could, and some don't pay enough attention to where the hangers are to prevent drone. Some of the cheap systems work great but buyer beware.

say I have a 3in straight through all the way exhaust system, no muffeler or resistor against a stright through five in exhaust with a twin turbo instead of single, will the single turbo truck be louder? ( becuase the twin may act as a muffeler a little bit)

I recently helped a friend install a 4" MBRP stainless from Diesel Performance Parts on his 2000 reg cab 4x4. It was a great setup. Even better than the same kit I installed on my own truck 6 months earlier. The system does come with a muffler that has the CTD sound without the nasty drone. I recommend you call DPP.

Be careful on the 4" straight thru mufflers ... they aren't all created equal. The restrictive versions have these louvers in there, kind of like glass packs ... bad stuff. Just get the 4" straight thru muffler that doesn't have the louvers, maybe in 24" long or longer, like the Walker & you'll be good to go.

well i wasnt going to get an actual muffler if i ended up with a kit with a muffler i would scrap it and have someone make just a 4 inch diameter pipe with flages on the ends to slip it over thats how my set up is now.

The other thing to make sure to watch for is mandrel bends. My uncle recently purchased a genuine el cheapo 4" for his ETH and the bends are not mandrel. I think his was an EBay special, not sure though.
