Hello All First I have to say that this page is great. Scecond I just bought a new 3500 4x4 stick quad cab. i want to put a BD exhaust on it. Does this truck have a cat on it and if i hollow it out(because of ct emmissions it has to be at least physically their) will I pass the new emissions testing?
Any help will be much apreciated.
Thanks in advance #ad

The new 24V's do not have cats on them. They pass emissions without a cat. They have a resonator and muffler. The can you see in front of the muffler is the resonator. Both the resonator and muffler from mine are hanging in the rafters of my shop. It sounds really good with the straight exhaust. I'm looking at exhaust brakes also. I am tending toward the US Gear brake. You might want to look at their web sight.

Tom,

My truck has a Cat. I have been through Ct emmissions testing 3 times since the truck was new.

They NEVER look to see if the Cat is on the truck.

In the Catalytic Coverter Box on the Emmissions test printout, there is a computer generated N/A.

It seems the EPA required a Cat on that year truck, But Connecticut does not require it.

Go figure
