Exhaust wrap

Rory: I used the Summit wrap from E-Brake to first hanger. No changes in egt. The wife says it helps the drone. It's kinda hard to put on with it on the truck.

I used it

I put it on my CTD , as the 4" pipe was less then 1/2" from the firewall and the existing "heatshield-fireproofing was burnt.

I noticed no difference in EGT's, but had no problems with heat from the down pipe from the jac-brake to floorboard bend.

It seems to deflect heat as designed.

I did the same as Bug Out for the same reason. All is fine. I think it was mentioned at one time that is should increase spool up, at least in theory. If I remember correctly, LSFARM said is reduced the noise in the cab just a touch, but I may be mistaken about that.

Take care,

Ryan

Did mine from the turbo to the muffler. I removed the whole section to do it. Wrapped it with 2 layers of 2" stuff. Then sprayed it down with silver BBQ paint to sort of seal it.

It may have helped the noise a bit. Can't say it helped EGTs. Supposedly helped to improve exhaust evacuation from the system (i. e. efficiency -> performance). I did it mostly to reduce under hood heat, heat around the firewall, and noise.
