John T,

Is your 2003 SRW all stock? Do you have air bags or any performance upgrades? Thanks to all for the input! David

Because your 2003 2500 was not available with a Camper Option springs like the earlier 2500's, you are going to need some help out back to keep things level. You will also be over GVWR of the truck if that means anything to you. Air bags or a trip to a good spring shop are in order. I have never heard of anyone putting the 3500 overloads on a 2500, but maybe someone has and we will hear from them.

No suspension upgades; Edge EZ on level 4, K&N filter, Mag hytech trans pan and diff covers and gages. It's a Ca SO not an HO so I needed the extra power the EZ puts out.

But you have the 3500 SRW with overloads, he has a 2500 without overloads. SNOKING

What is the difference between 2500 and 3500 overload springs? I have done research about maximum trailer towing weight, and have found two different answers. One states I can pull a maximum of 10,800 and one states I can pull 12,800. Also what is the definition of how to measuring pin weight? My GAWR on my truck is 5200 LB on the front, and 6000 LB on the rear. My GVWR is 9000 LB. Is the difference between the GAWR my pay load rating? I have read many posts on and off this site regarding weight maximums, and I am still having a hard time understanding how to calculate the maximum of these ratings. Can anyone recommend a good site or other resource to help me understand this? Thanks for any suggestions.

My li'l brother used to run a ton Chevy 4WD SRW. Had it all beefed up, engine & suspension. Used to brag to me bout how it didn't sway with his Big Foot. I followed him around one day. . . he's fulla crap, it sways a bunch. I have two long dually's, I haul bout everyday. They haul well. . . times I'd rather not have them is tire buying time, parking in garage time, going through drive up's time. Stretched Ram takes about a football field to turn round in, but get somewhat a limo effect on the big roads. Personally, I rarely get over 65 a haulin anything. I pass many that go faster, pretty much everyday somebodies in the ditch. Big trucks, little trucks, no matter. . . dead is dead. I'll live to ride another day. It's a free country, you do what you think is best, but do THINK about it.

Cheers,

Steve J
