crawling around under my truck (2005 4x4 reg cab ctd) today i noticed behind the left fenderwell tucked up by the floor board of the cab a large wiring harness plug. it seems that it would be exposed to alot of roadspray, leading to corrosion. would it be wise to wrap the plug in plastic and tape it up? has anybody done this? is it a non-issue?, thanks

I saw this connector when installing a 7 pin trailer wire adaptor from Mopar. I am concerned. It has been snowing a lot and it is cover salt and calicum. Maine uses calicum on the interstate, it's bad stuff. I have the same question.

Also why would Dodge build this truck without the 7 pin wiring harness for electric breaks? 05 Laramie HD 3500 QC Red on Silver 325/610 48RE LWB 4:10 SRW Mopar-Boards RB4-Nav & loaded up inside.

That plug has all the wiring for the rear end lights and such. I've had mine apart and wouldn't worry about it being where it's located because of the rubber seals.
