I,m having a slide-in built. It will be 8 foot wide plus jacks. Stock mirrors go out 1 foot from the body of the truck to the end of the mirror. It says Mc Kesh mirrors extend 20 inches. From where? Also Lucerix and Power-Vision. What are their measurements from body out. I need some in put on what will be the best set-up for 8 foot wide . Thanks

You could retrofit some factory Tow Mirrors from Dodge that are on newer trucks if you want a manual setup, I like mine but haven't towed anything 8 ft. wide. For power setup someone else will have to post.

Mirrors

TT,

What did you think of the mirrors on the blue truck at our little get together the other night? I would definitely have them on mine for 5th. whl towing if I didn't already have the ones from DB with all the chrome tubing bolted to the doors.

Hope you find what you want.

I also have a Cache Camper on my old 1980 Dodge crewcab. The shell is 22 years old and still in excellent shape.

Factory Towing Mirrors

I recently installed the 2002 factory tow mirrors on my 99 for towing a 5er.

With the mirrors extended they measure 109 inches (9ft 1in) wing tip to wing tip.

Think that is about as wide as you might want to get:) ?

At least they swing both ways if they have to, (bi-mirrors:D ):D :D

Hi Jack- Yes I like those Lucerix Magna X mount mirrors alot I,m trying to find out the extented length from body to outside edge but so far nobodys responded. Anyway, was good to finally meet you and definetly hope to see you again. TT

PowerVision

TT

I have PowerVision mirrors and fully extended measures 9'4". they also break away both directions. Mine are the earlier version and not heated. I think they would do the job for you, but are not cheap. Good mirrors and steady extended at speeds, also right hand side is the same glass as left side

I use the McKesh mirrors and like them. I tow an 8ft wide RV and can easily see behind it and yours will be closer to the mirrors so will be even better. If your camper will stay on all the time something else might be better but for part time use the McKesh setup is great, takes about 15 seconds to remove and 2 minutes to put on once its set up. They go REALLY wide. I never have had mine all the way out.

'02 Factory tow mirrors

F Allen,

Are the '02 tow mirrors power and heated? I've gotten spoiled by my factory power mirrors. Thanks

T Terry- I've got the Lucerix's mounted up with a 8' wide slide in plus jacks. When fully extended, the jacks come half way across the mirror. I adjust the mirrors to look outboard a bit (instead of directly down the side of the truck looking at the rear bumper) and can see anything coming up behind me just fine.

Gotta love the power adjusting- when manuvering in tight spots can turn them down and in to see exactly what the tires are running over.

No, the mirrors aren't heated or power. They are great though, with the convex lens outboard and they will flip up like a true "West Coast" type of mirror when you are towing.

Best idea in mirrors I've seen anywhere.

Would be nice if they were power and heated though.
