Another thread that was started by Bill Kollmer Unbeatable deal on an Extended Warranty invloved www.warrantygold.com and a group purchase. Since my Dodge warranty will expire next month I called to inquire about the progress of a group purchase. Linda is not there today 7/7/02. I spoke with a gentleman concerning the warranty and he expressed to me that the Diamond Plan is the one to purchase, today they are having a special of $500. 00 savings for the first 300 customers. So I thought that the special savings would probably offset the group discount and I should just purchase it and get it over with. Lo and behold I was advised to call linda tomorrow because the group rate can save $150. 00 or more over the special going on now. I guess I will be hot on the phone with Linda in the morning. They also offer extended payment options with no interest, guess I will find more about that also. If your looking for extended warranties this may be a good place to check out as it seems the people there are honest enough to take care of your wallet (not paying too much) and your truck

anyone?......

What ever happened with this? Looking to buy an extende warranty for a good price. Thanks, Jim.

Interesting. Second page asks for a postal code, but the first page won't let you select a Canadian province. So I had to say I was in Montana... which if I lived in the US, would be a nice place to live. Still worth following up on the extended coverage.

update

Well I picked up the Diamond plan, covers everything except the normal maint. things(brake pads, grease etc. )no deductible. Something like $480. 00 down and 8 payments of 135. 00 with no interest for a total of about 1560. 00. Linda told me that if I even suspected something wrong with the truck to take it to any certified mechanic (Dealer etc. ) and have it checked even if it is only valve cover oil leakage. The mileage on the truck was about 33000 and 1 month left on Chryslers 3 year when I opened this warranty for 7 Years or 100000 from the date it went into force.

Dave,

You aught to ask them if the warranty is not used during the seven year period, would you get 85% of your investment back. They did that about three years ago, I don't know if they still do it.

Blair,

Thanks for the tip, I will have to check that out. I assumed it was like auto insurance whatever you pay you will never see again unless you have an accident and it's your fault.

Warranty Gold Pro-Rated

Okay,

I just found the refund section page 15 line 6 (sounds like a Lawyer eh). It pretty much says that if you CANCEL and you have not filed any claims they will pro-rate your contract from date of purchase and accumulated miles. If you have filed a claim that will also be deducted. The only full refund is if you cancel within 60 days of a new vehicle purchase or 30 days of a used vehicle purchase and no claims (you just have to love all this legal jargon). The exclusions section page 17 paragraph F states that any failure caused by alterations to the vehicle in a manner not recommended by the manufacturer will not be covered. These alterations include any custom add on part, any frame or suspension modifications; Lift Kits,over/under sized tires or wheels;Trailer Hitches; and/or modifications to the engine, emissions or exhaust system. I guess that if your totally stock your okay. If you have added enhancements you could run the risk of the part not being covered.
