2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Extending AC Drain Tube - Winter Question

If I use defrost during the winter time, does water drip out of the ac drain tube?

I extended my AC Evap drain tube with 5/8 heater hose, it was causing a leak in the cab (i think), along with the 3rd brake light (as found in many searches here).



Pulled seats/carpet/backpanels etc to find them, flashlight during a torential rain found the 3rd brake light, passenger floor wet. Interior evap container is dry. Though it seems its coming thru the floor where the seams meet.



I extended it because I read here the tube isn't long enough and it just runs down the firewall, possibly into the cab. I extended it back onto the frame under the passenger seat. Well see if it takes care of the problem this week



I've never seen water drip in the winter time, only summer with a/c on. I hear the compressor cycle during the winter defrost and was curious if i need to worry about the extended hose freezing up.

Yes ,in defrost mode the compressor will run and you may have some condensation out the drain if the conditions are right.

I have had mine extended for two years and have not had any freezing issues yet. Winters around here can get below zero.
