extending mirrors

i have the sports mirrors on my truck, not very good when pulling a camper. does any one make the heated extending mirrors, if so how much are they.

I have the Powervision extendable mirrors. They extend and adjust from the inside. Unfortunately,they havent come out with the heated mirrors. These mirrors have a larger surface area for visibility ,dont vibrate and will fold away if hit. My cost was $350. Took a good day to install. Like em a lot.

Last word from Powervision regarding the heated mirror feature (as of about three to four weeks ago through a telephone conversation with them) was, this will be at least another 12-14 months away at the minimum due to existing contracts with the present mirror manufacturer.

According to the y2k sales booklet form Dodge, the new trucks come with extending mirrors. They fold in for daily driving then fold out for towing. This is a stock option. Does anyone know if they will fit on earlier model trucks (without modifications)? Also, are these mirrors heated?

In my y2k book those mirrors are an option not standard. I was thinking of getting these when I replace my truck. I havent been able to find out if they are heated. Anyone know??

Guys,
The new trailer tow mirrors that where marked "late availability" ane now available. They are order code GPD, and they are NOT power, and are NOT heated. There are other posts on this site regarding cost & part numbers. They are a no cost option with the SLT package, but mucho bucks if you want to just purchase them from DC.

I pull a 3000lb. Lance camper with my 2000 3500 and just use the slide-on mirrors from Geno's Garage. You can buy them also in most RV places as well. They work OK and are about $45...

HAS ANYONE SEEN THE NEW FLIP MIRROR FROM DODGE . I GOT A SET ON MY NEW 2000 DODGE DIESEL. WHEN TOWING JUST GRAB THE MIRROR AND TILT IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE 90* . THE MIRROR NOW IS READY TO TOW WHATEVER. THEY ARE FANTASTIC AND ARE ONLY $88. 00 WHEN ORDERED WITH THE TRUCK. IT SURE BEATS USING THE SLIDE ON TYPE.

I just hit the turn signals, count to 5 at a medium pace and change lanes. That and a good set of curb feelers should do the trick

I wish we could find a cheaper source for the Dodge flip mirrors. After market or OEM. $750 a pair is rediculous. The power heated ones are only $320 a pair.

FWIW - i was very interested in obtaining the new tow mirros - finally found the part #'s as well as the astonishing price - However what I was also told was that the doors had additional reinforcements included for these mirrors from the factory and that they weren't adviaseable as a retor fit becasue of problems created regarding tearing or distortion of the door skins?

Now I can't substantiate this - it is merely something I read in a post on another group and spoke to dealer about - after that - i decided I'd try the Geno's type slip ons for the moment - regretably the best mirrors I ever had were the big ole three point stainless mounted tow mirrors.

Felt I should let everyone know what I heard just use caution - i'm not sure its true or not
