Thinking about buying a system to put in the bed of the truck that will allow me to unload all my construction tools with out getting up in the truck. Basically its a 4x8 platform that slides on rollers and you can slide the whole load out the back of the truck. It will extend a full 8ft out the back and will support 1200 to 1800 lbs with no problem. sure would save the knees and back. Anyone ever seen one work. need input before I spend the 1700 bucks. thanks.

I've seen these things and they look great. Like you said it would sure save on the knees. If you are in a line of work where you were in and out of the back of the truck constantly (and a need to keep the bed covered) I could see how this thing is well worth the money.



I didn't realize they were so expensive. It seems like there was a thread recently (within the last three months) discussing these things.

We have been putting the drawers in our electrician trucks. The trucks have utility beds with slide covers, makes it a real pain t get into the front of the bed. Have a solid top so you put heavy objects on it.

I've got one...

I have an 8 foot Joeybed in my truck that allows about 75% extension and will support about 1500 pounds. Design and construction are pretty nice and I think the price is under $1000. I've got an ARE slimline style bed cap on the truck also and the bed slide makes it MUCH easier to retrieve items in the front near the cab. You can take a look at http://www.joeybed.com to find more information. I also think they offer a 1 year return policy if you don't like it or feel that it doesn't do what they advertised it to. They come in several "grades" depending on desired use (they supply commercial types of slides for emergency vehicles etc. ) and the prices do go up accordingly. I'm pretty happy with the product.

Detroyer, we have one in service on our rescue truck for the fire dept, we run are jaws of life , generator , lighting and all tools and support systems, the unit is very useable and makes for 100% access to all your tools, I am very impressed with it and would highly reccomend the truck vault to all contractors Kevin
