A few of mine are faded as well and I've always wondered if there was a way to restore them to look like new. I've seen a few trucks with trim that looks immaculate and they had to have done something to get it to look like that.

I have a fix for the problem. The chrome gets to looking pretty bad. I use a jump shear to cut the chrome section off. I then remove all the glue tape and and polish out any scratches . I clean them with lacquer thinner. I then will paint them with SEMS color coat black simi gloss paint. I paint all the parts to be sure that they all match exactly. .
Then I get a roll of 3m molding tape and re apply the strips. Now I get out a roll of NEW CHROME strip and put it right below the black strips that I cut the old chrome off of. The truck then will look 100% original as well as like brand new.
I have done 12 of my friends trucks like this. The chrome strip I use is made by the original vendor who made it for Chrysler. One thing to remember when removing the strips is that the portion that goes behind the door on the cab corner AND the strip on the vary front of the fender ARE NOT GLUED ON ! They were made out of plastic. They have hex nuts on the inside of the cab underneath the glued on carpet. . The front have the nuts on the inside of the fenders. . Do NOT TRY TO PRY THEM OFF ! Remove the nuts !!! the reason behind the cab corners was that we felt that the rubber would not flex around the curve and stay glued down . I bought a 500 foot roll of the chrome replacement strip. I would be willing to sell some of it. I could also shear the old chrome off for those who do not own or have axcess to a shear... I have a set of fender trim id sell used , not perfect but usible , i think i might be missing one thoughon the back
 
I have an entire truck, and i think most of the trim is decent. Look in my cummins ramcharger build thread and i think there is a pic or two. PM me if you are interested...
 
Try local wrecking yard I just bought 3 pieces I was missing for 8 dollars. they had 2 trucks with all the trim on them. Always cut the trim off with a puddy knife never pull it off .
