External voltage regulator

My 93 quit charging and the alternator is OK. I saw somewhere on this sight how to mount a voltage on the firewall or someplace and just bypass the one in th ECM. I have a regulator and the little plug that is stock on earlier trucks. I just need to know how to wire it in. Does anyone know where that thread is. Thanks

Thanks Mike, another question arises, do you have to disconnect anything from the computer or is that function dead?

You might want to look up my previous posts on this subject. And yes I still have plenty of adjustable voltage 7 amp regulators. Let me know if you would like one.
