Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Extra Quart??

I bought a used 99 2500 4x4 57,000mi on the odometer, with a 47re. Ive noticed that it shifts VERY firmly. I checked the transmission fluid and found it to be a quart high. Yes I checked the level in neutral, hot, etc. I drained the extral fluid. I checked with the dealer and the part numbers are correct for the tube and dip stick. Now the truck suffers from morning sickness. I don't know if the valve body was modified. Is there any mods that require an extra quart? I am thinking of putting it back in. Help!!!!

Are you reading the front or back of the stick?. Mine gives erroneous readings on the front so I turn the stick 180 when checking the level.

Put the transmission in neutral for 20 or 30 seconds after you start the engine to circulate the fluid. The stock transmission does not circulate in Park. BTW this a common issue with the 47RE. SNOKING

I read the dip stick properly as I said; in neutral after driving ffor a while to get the transmission hot. I was on level surface. Repeated entire process because i was shocked that the transmission fluid level was so high. I siphoned out a quart of fluid to get the right level.
