What is the difference in engines

Just Paid Over $100.00 To Fill Standard Tank

You know I just watched the show today and saw that they were helping with the Durmax twin set up, funny thing was when asked what kind of numbers Banks was expecting out of the truck, it was something like 700hp and 1000 fpt. Now hmmmmmmmmmmmm they got all excited over the torque, makes one wonder if you ask me. Is that all the torque it is going to put out? Latet Jim.

Yeah... . I hope they are going to put some different axles in that thing. Just 10 bolts right now. D60/14bolt AT LEAST! 38s & diesel power= death to stock axles!

I found it interesting that they had to basically change out everything in the engine except the block in order to support that power level (crank, rods, pistons, etc. ). Contrast that with the B5. 9, whose lower end seems to be fine up to insane power levels.

Truly a commentary on how overbuilt the B-series is.

No kiddin Ryan, we still run stock crank, mains, bearings, and rods in our pulling motors.

Banks is doin' some neat stuff with the D-Max, it must be nice to have unlimited funds and time to figure stuff out, it will be nice for the guys with a street truck to gain some of the advances of what they are doing, but honestly they are just throwing alot of money at big parts, and there's nothing real special about their block prep. i like the d-max pretty good and i'll be first to admit that I am not a brand loyalist, but imagine if we threw all of those pretty parts at our cummins engines?

I saw this also. MY thought was it was going to be expensive. How much power would we be cranking out, with that kind of money thrown at the Cummins? The D-max boys will be shelling out big time, just to get where we can get with a lot less hit on the wallet. But you know, name recognition is big with them. Almost everyone asking about my truck, wonders why I don't have Banks parts. Am I missing something?

What I thought was odd is that there are guyz w/ the D-Max putting out some pretty heavy #'s w/ just a couple of boxes. I know its not 700 but still quite a bit of H. P. Also I am putting out just under 1100 ft. /lbs of torque and don't have twins or half of the money they are throwing at the Suburban Gorilla.

I was kinda wondering what the 203/205 doubler tcase was going to do with 1000 ft lbs. I suppose its going to be a little differnt 1000 ft lbs cause there will be more rpms with it? Lock her down in double low and whats going to happen?

What do you think the innercooler is going to be worth, being it will be two separate coolers? Sounds like they are going to put one turbo for each bank, not in series like the ones around here.

I liked Bank's comment about the "guys" you see blowing black smoke, thats not power, thats wasted power. I got one of these :-laf when I heard that.

I have seen Banks I several shows, and still don't know what to think of him. He does a lot of cool stuff, and seems to really know about turbos, but then dumps a ton of money into a Dmax to make 700hp/1000ft lbs. I noticed they did not say at the flywheel or the tires.

I do really enjoy watching the Tech Shows in Spike TV, specially like to watch the young lady weld!! Just sometimes wonder about their diesel tech.

Diesels being a $ 5000 dollar option. I would want one thats already built right from the start. I'm sure that kit would run a few grand plus labor. Plus all the other electronic to wake that thing up. Cha Ching you get your self a $ 10,000 dollar motor that may hold up? Then we'll talk about there customer service!

I don't know it all, but would $10,000 touch that motor? I mean all thats Duramax is the block. Crank, pistons, rods, turbos, manifolds, heads, intake, aftercooler, fuel system and computer are all being touched by Banks.

I'm sure it will be $10,000 Just in the Banks twin turbo kit. Not the engine work too. That is going to be an exspensive bottom end. All for 750hp... ... ... ... . ? No one ever said Banks stuff is cheap.

I do agree that the kit that they are making will be pretty sweet, just heavy on the pocket book.

I want to know how they modded the turbos to run on half the CID if they were "off the shelf" banks powerstroke turbo's.

It's all publicity. I liked where the show started off from but they are already throwing money where it doesn't belong.

And the axles. WTF. there are a million 3/4 subarbans rusting to the ground... They couldn't have started there?

I hate fake hummers anyway.....
