need some expert advice. Curently have bosch 275RV injectors with Edge EZ. Thinking about going to comp box and DD2's or 3's but not sure if they will work for the every day driver. I pull a 34' gooseneck trailer and a max tow weight most of the time. I think I will be alright on my EGT's. But I have heard the a extrude honed injector will drip:eek: at idle!! That can't be good for a truck that Idles a fair amount, I don't think. Maybe not. With current equipment I can only hit 800degrees on pyro(post turbo).

Just need more info on the DD injector. Tanks.

A properly built injectors will not drip or leak. Idling does these engines no service... if you don't have to let it idle, DON'T. Stage 2's is pushing it and 3's will be too much without exhaust and an airbox for sure. Get gauges with either set.

IMO, DDIII's may be a bit much towin that kind of wieght, since you live in a hot area, not to mention the hills there. Idling for long periods of time with any injector is not good. Also, if you move your pyro probe PRE-turbo, you'll find your easily over 1000* now.

It's recommended that you remove the exaust manifold before drilling and tapping it to keep shavings from going through you turbo. I cheated and used a shop vac while I was drilling and then maticulously cleaned with the vac, and a Q-tip with grease on the end of it to get around removing the manifold. I've done three trucks this way and no problems. I do mean maticulously though!

Another simpler way is to coat the drill bit with grease, and slowly drill the manifold (cast drills easy) then coat the tap also, the grease grabs any the shavings while you cut. Very simple, and no need to remove the manifold or turbo.

Make sure you find a set of directions for where to drill at! I missed the mark by 1/8" and ended up right next to (and I mean RIGHT NEXT TO) the manifold divider between 1 2 3 & 4 5 6. 3 times the amount of shavings that needed to be in there.

Thanks for the info guys.

Just finished moving my probe to pre-turbo and it works great. :D Didn't have to remove the turbo, used grease. You were right Rob, I can hit 1100* right now. A comp and DD2 would be to much. Maybe I'll just go with one or the other.
