Assuming the lift pump and clutch are taken care of, will an EZ and 120hp injectors survive in an otherwise stock ETH? Or is that too much injector for the stock turbo?
See my signature. My experience is that the DD2s are pushing it with the stock HX35W-12 if you tow heavy - I drive by the pyrometer when we're pulling our 5th wheel. You might be OK empty or with lighter loads. Unless you're willing to work around high EGTs, I think I'm just about at the realistic limit on injector size and box "aggressiveness" with the stock turbo - note that I have the BHAF and 4" exhaust as well.
Chris... If you already have the EZ. . its too late. . or you could upgrade. . I like the inside adjsutability of the Comp box. . (DD's UMF) I haven't had any problems with my DDIII's and towing. . but I can turn the box off when I need too... (If you are not going to upgrade boxes. . everyone seems to like the DDII size injectors... I'm not sure when it comes to the EDM's. . )
Keith if you check this tread... Does the Comp box Defuel on 1x1?? I remember reading something about it... but I don't remember if it was just rumors... . I don't seem to see any differance in the sublevel settings...
Yes, sublevels 1 & 2 in every power level is a "defuel" setting. Basically, it takes away some of the power the truck would normally make until a preset level of boost is achieved, then ramps it back in.
