I just installed my EZ. It runs good and gets better milage but then I turn buckled my waste gate I get alot of smoke under exceleration. It is boosting about 30. What is Making it smoke?
It smokes until the boost kicks up, Especially if you have the jumper on 3. Mine is set on 3, and it smokes good until the boost goes up. Set on 2, didn't smoke as bad.
Same here. I have the DD version of the EZ and setting 3 smoked a bit much for my tastes so I run with the jumper on 2 for fueling start at 20psi and I get just as much power for towing as setting 3.
It only smokes at high boost like 30#'s. With RPM If I let my waste gate work stock toping off at 17. 5#'s I get no noticable smoke. I will lock it again today to try to get more info.
With the waistgate in the stock setup, the waist gate opens and prevents boost from going above 20psi. If you don't have the map sensor attachment of the EZ connected, the engine will start to defuel around 20 psi.
Or maybe you are seeing more smoke because its running harder then it could before applying the EZ

I had completely diabled the gate but I didnt have time to mess with it so I just returned it to stock. this morring I wired it partly shut. to get 22#'s and it looked ok. So Now I tighted up the wire some more and Ill see what happens. Seemed backwards to me too.
According to EDGE the fuel provided by the EZ does not even need more than the stock boost level. I even have the DD2's now and don't get smoke. Just a burst from the turbo lag when I punch it. I see your from SoCal too so the altitude shouldn't be a problem.
Maybe at the higher boost pressures one of your lines is creating a leak. Check all your clamps and make sure they are tight. Also if you are running the stock box for the air filter the tube to the fender could be collapsing. I have heard of that happening.
Embarasted to say but I found my smoke. I had looked behind to see a trail of smoke... ... ... ... What it really was was a trail of dusk kicking off the side of the road and then drift on the road. I now have a 22 shell in with full boost and all is well. Really I wasnt drinking... ... Maybe I should start.
