I've read many conflicting posts on this site about the boost elbow that comes with the EZ. Is it needed on a 2002 ETH/DEE that is stock with the exception of a 4" Jardine exhause, a Amsoil Air Filter and a Power Edge EZ? I've seen reports that is does nothing yet others say it's needed. What are the benifits of installing it along with the EZ? I have my exhaust on order and I'm waiting on Piers to get back to me on the EZ so I want to have all the facts when it shows up.

Thanks,

You don't have to put it on. But you will receive the additional benefit of additional boost if you do. More boost=more power. I read somewhere that 1 lb boost= 10 hp. And, More boost=lower EGT (generally). So by all means put in on.

Ray, I found that the elbow does add more power, however if the allen screw is left in the fully closed position with an EZ, I found I was always chasing a "moving target" with the throttle to keep it at max power. After backing the allen screw out 1/8 th turn, the power is constant (albeit with less total boost) throughout the powerband.
